Chord Overstreet Moves On From Glee

Chord Overstreet has landed his first gig since leaving from Glee.  Chord is going from playing a student at McKinley High to playing a teacher on ABCs sitcom, The Middle.

Chord will guest star in an episode as a fourth-grade teacher named Ralph Wilkerson, who's teaching methods conflict with Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn's parenting skills.

You will remember the uproar when Chord decided to leave Glee after not being bumped up to series regular by Ryan Murphy.  And although I was a fan of Overstreet's Sam, he should realize that you have to work to get promoted.  Harry Shaum Jr. went two seasons before finally being signed for the third season as a series regular.

Gleeks Invade NYC

Fox's Glee has been not-so-secretly filming around Manhattan this past week and the Gleeks have come out in droves. Some came from as close as the Lower West Side while others traveled for hours just to get the chance to see one of the stars of the popular show.

The crowds were somewhat smaller as the week began. On Monday evening, only the in the know fans seemed to be at the taping. I arrived in Central Park on Tuesday to see the crowd in the photo and it was evident that word had begun to spread.
I don't really get starstruck anymore. Living in New York, you see them everywhere. Being a writer I don't really interact with them on an everyday level though. However, I must admit that when I began to see the stars of Glee, I got a little twinge and felt like a teenager again. Of course nothing compared to what I witnessed from the sidelines as I watched the teenage fans completely go insane.

Hardcore fans told me that after watching everyday, they began to pick up on certain habits to better help them meet the stars. Some fans had spotted a certain security guard that only appeared to usher the stars on and off the set. And when he came out to welcome a new cast member, the kids ran like the wind. Talking to the fans to see what kind of mind set they have proved to be intriguing. Most admitted that while they were huge fans, the only reason they were stalking the set was due to the fact that Glee tapes across the country. On Thursday the entire cast was at Intercontinental Hotel in Midtown and about 300 fans polluted the sidewalks.

Those are the fans that I talked to and learned that they really aren't all crazy. To hear the screams when Corey Monteith arrived back to the set after going to appear on a NHL show was entertaining. As he stopped and met the screaming people, security was the one to put a stop to it. Most cast members always came out to the camping fans and took pictures and signed autographs. There were one or two that really wanted nothing to do with the process it seemed. But you better believe that the fans took that to heart. When they were asked which Glee cast member avoided them the most, they all answered with the same name.

Can you guess who?

Nuthin But A Glee Thing

Nuthin' But A Glee Thang with Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison & Sofia Vergara from Heather Morris

Proving there’s no competition between the supporting actresses on Glee and Modern Family, Sofia Vergara appears in a new FunnyorDie video that finds her, Glee‘s Heather Morris, Morris’ roommate Ashley Lendzion, and actress Riki Lindhome as Gleeks. Before the video erupts into Morris, Lendzion, and Lindhome borrowing Dr. Dre’s beat for the remake “Nuthin’ But a Glee Thing,” which they wrote, Vergara joins the ladies — wearing a red Sue Sylvester tracksuit — to talk about their favorite cast members. “Comparing Jane to the rest of the cast is like comparing the Great Barrier Reef with a piece of dogshit,” she says. “No offense, Heather.” Then it cuts to a confessional. “Heather is my favorite. I just don’t want her to know because I don’t want her to think that I’m just a crazy fan that doesn’t know the difference between TV and reality… It just makes me want to cut to a musical number.” Vergara sticks around to dance. Glee stars Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith, Harry Shum Jr., and Naya Rivera also make appearances. The video, a concept Morris brought up to producer David Bernad in a meeting last May, was shot over a two-month period. It was Bernad’s idea to enlist Vergara as a closet Glee fan.

Glee Under Fire

"It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on Glee in this way. It borders on pedophilia. Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overt sexualization of young girls in entertainment."

Those are the words of Parent Television Council President Tim Winter on the recent GQ spread that featured three stars of the FOX hit Glee. As you can clearly see the pictures in a post below, Lea Michele seemed to drop any inhibition that she had and posed with her legs spread wearing only a pair of underwear.

Winters goes on to say that "Many children who flocked to High School Musical have grown into Glee fans. They are now being treated to seductive, in-your-face poses of the underwear-clad female characters posing in front of the school lockers, one of them opting for a full-frontal crotch shot. By authorizing this kind of near-pornographic display, the creators of the program have established their intentions of the show's direction. And it isn't good for families.
"With a demonstrated market of eager fans for an entertaining, musical-themed program like Glee, we wonder why the show's creators feel the need for such graphic sexualization of women. Interestingly, the photos of the male character showed him wearing a shirt, tie and vest."
Well you heard the man Cory Montieth.  Drop trou' and take a bow!

Lea Michele Gets Gleefully Naked

Pictures from the upcoming issue of GQ have been released and they feature three stars from the FOX hit Glee.  Lea Michele, Dianna Argon, and And Cory Montieth grace the pages in some very interesting shots.  While Dianna and Cory manage to maintain their innocence, Lea Michele dropped her clothes at the door.

Seems to me that if a certain star wanted to make it big, she would be able to do it with her clothes on.  But then again, I guess attention is attention no matter how you look at it.

Glee Does The Time Warp

With the best holiday ever right around the corner, Glee is celebrating Halloween by doing what they do best.  A Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute is on the horizon and the first shots have been released.

Newcomer Chord Overstreet will be the delicious Rocky while Chris Colfer is portraying Riff-Raff.  Finn makes an adorable Brad while Dianna Argon and John Stamos round out the cast.  Does this mean that Matthew Morrison will be the sweet transvestite from Transylvania?  And I wouldn't mind Chord being in the penis covering rag that Rocky wore in the original.  Cross your fingers for a new Penis Monday candidate.

Go Puck Yourself

Glee star Mark Salling celebrated July 4th by laying poolside and giving us another reason to drool into our cereal this morning.  Mark hung with some male friends and not with any of his latest flings.

Glee Stars Get Sexy On The Beach

School's out for the cast of Glee and they're already making the most.

Actress Jenna Ushkowitz, 22, and co-star Kevin McHale, 21, were spotted frolicking on the beach in Monaco, France, yesterday.

Jenna, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the hit show, paraded around the foreshore in a blue and white striped bikini while Kevin, who plays wheelchair-bound Artie Abrams, put his toned torso and bulge on show.

Glee Filled Post

I love Glee, even though we have had our ups and downs.  I was excited when Broadway star Idina Menzel joined the cast and called the whole Rachel Mama Drama storyline before it happened.  And when Shelby told Rachel that she felt their time had passed and she felt as if she couldn't be the mother she needed, I slightly understood.  Slightly.

But last night when Shelby and Rachel had their final conversation, I realized what was about to happen.  In the most clever labor scenes I have ever seen, Quinn gave birth to baby Beth to the tune of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.  And as Quinn and Puck stood outside the nursery and realized they weren't keeping the baby, Shelby made her entrance and ending up adopting the baby.

The problem with this is that Glee pretty much had Shelby trade in her newly found daughter that she had supposedly been broken up for years about finding only to realize she wanted a newer model.  As Rachel put everything out on the table for her birth mother, your heart just broke as Shelby shot her down and told her that Rachel was too old for Shelby to suddenly become a mother to.

Heartbreaking and just mean I think.  And how weird is it if Finn and Rachel marry then he becomes the brother-in-law to the girl that he once thought was his.

But in the good news, Rachel kissed Finn and then Finn told Rachel he loved her before then went on to sadly lose the competition.  But the season finale was amazing, with Jonathon Groff killing it on Bohemian Rhapsody and Matthew Morrison sending us off for the summer with his romantic rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow.  I  cannot wait for next season with the promise of Brittany and Santana overload!

Also, Glee got the honor of gracing the cover of Emmy Magazine and here are the breathtaking photos.
