SCRE4M IS HERE!

Everyone may say that Scream 4 should have never happened and that it is like beating a dead horse. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially in the bloggerverse.  But to you Scream 4 haters, I say suck it.

In 1996 I loved Scream when it came out.  If there was no Scream, there would have been no rebirth of the horror franchise.  Horror movies were dead in 1996, kaput!  Scream came alone and reinvented horror movies and became the rare trilogy of horror films.

Not only were the movies awesome, the core cast were 3 loveable stars.  You had Courtney "Monica" Cox, Neve Campbell with her Party Of Five gorgeousness and David Arquette with his wacky but somewhat do-able aloof self.  When Scream 3 came out I was so excited to see how it would end, but also so sad because it was the end.

To hear that Scream 4 was coming out was amazing.  I too feared that maybe it was going too far.  I still am scared that maybe, just maybe, I would be forced to watch one of my beloved trio get hacked up by some second-rate actor.  Or worse yet, that one of the three would be the one behind the mask.

Kevin Williams wouldn't do that to me though, right? In Dawson I trust. 

Scream 4 Trailer Drops

Even though the movie isn't going to be released until April of next year, a trailer for Scream 4 was leaked online.  Returning starts Never Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette are seen in the preview, though it is likely that not all three stars will make it to the final credits.

The preview seems to be able to live up to the original trilogy and I personally cannot wait for the flick.  Do you think this is a mistake or are you ready to Scream again?

Scream 4 Nabs A Gilmore Girl

Rumors of another Scream 4 casting has hit the net and it comes in the form of Lauren Graham.  Sources are saying that the Gilmore Girl alum has signed on for the reboot though her role has not been announced.

The new film sees the return of cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, along with a group of new stars Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Lake Bell and Nico Tortorella, who can hopefully stay alive long enough to figure out the new rules to this one-of-a-kind horror franchise. Wes Craven will direct the Dimension Films sequel arriving in theaters April 15, 2010.

Though many people seem to be fed up with the Scream franchise, I am excited to see what Kevin Williamson has come up with.  I was worried that Scream 4 would be the nail in the coffin, but the list of stars has given me hope.  Do you have any intention of seeing this movie or do you feel as if Scream should be laid to rest?

Scream 4 begins filming around June 28 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Ready For Scream 4, 5, And Maybe 6?

'Scream 4' is on its way -- and perhaps 'Scream 5' and 'Scream 6' as well.

In an exclusive interview with FEARNet, screenwriter Kevin Williamson discussed his upcoming return to Woodsboro and the triumphant returns of Sidney (Neve Campbell), Gale (Courteney Cox Arquette) and Dewey (David Arquette).

Unfortunately, fan favorite Randy (Jamie Kennedy) won't be returning.

"No. We're not that movie," says Williamson. "We're not that universe where you can bring people back from the dead. That would be just a cheat. It's such a disservice."

Williamson goes on to say that 'Scream 4' might indeed be the first chapter of a new trilogy.

"I am contracted for '4' and '5,' but the deal for '6' is not done," he says. "I mean, I pitched three films. The story is about returning to Woodsboro, and 'Scream 5' -- knock on wood, if we actually get to it, because '4' has to be good in order for us to make a '5' -- '5' will be a continuation of '4,' but '4' is its own movie."

Williamson also says the new trilogy might not embrace the "post-modern horror" approach of the original trilogy.

"I just think the most important thing is 'Scream' needs to be scary. If we make it scary, then I think we'll have done our jobs, and it won't matter whether it's a post-post-modern revision/deconstruction."

'Scream 4' opens in theaters on Apr. 15, 2011.
