It's a rumor that's been floating around for months, but now producer Neal Moritz has confirmed that Colin Farrell
will star in an upcoming "Total Recall
" reboot, which kicks off production in May.The film, helmed by "Underworld" director Len Wiseman, will not only be massive in scope, but stick a little closer to the Philip K. Dick story ("We Can Remember It for You Wholesale") than Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 cult classic did.
That means they won't go into space -- which probably also means no Kuato (sad face!), no "two weeeeeeeks" immigration scene and no three-boobed hookers. But that could be a good thing since those elements are so iconic, any inclusion in the 2012 reboot would feel a little too "winky."
In fact, the further Colin's "Recall" can step away from the original, the better it may be judging from the other reboots we've watched this decade.
