Buffy The Vampire Slayer Most Missed Show

The weekly poll has ended in an astounding landslide.  Seems a lot of readers are Buffy fans and have voted it as the most missed show with 39% of the votes.  Gilmore Girls was in distant second with only 19%, followed by That 70's show and Angel tied with 11%, Charmed with 10%, and the hilarious Samantha Who with only 6%.

So in honor of Buffy The Vampire Slayer winning, we decided to catch up with our Scooby gang and see what the answer was to "Where Do We Go From Here?"

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who was our beloved Buffy, didn't really go on to do much, as we all know.  It wasn't from the lack of trying, but she could never quite leave Buffy behind.  Sarah Michelle never talked bad about Buffy though.  In fact, she held Buffy dear to her heart and always kept the character's dignity and the fans interests in mind during the entire series.  She and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. welcomed a baby girl they named Charlotte in September of 2009.  Sarah Michelle hasn't given up on acting and I think she is in the most need of a television comeback.  The problem was, SMG tried to break through to movies, and though I loved her in Cruel Intentions, she was never given the role that confirmed her ability as an actress.  I suggest you watch her on All My Children and you can see she had what it took. Maybe she will get a comeback yet. You never know, stranger things have happened.

Alyson Hannigan as Willow, the sometimes wicked witch of the west, is one of the few that moved onto another popular role. She took over the role from Riff Regan, who portrayed Willow in the un-aired plot. We got glimpses of Alyson's comedic talents during her stint as Willow, but no one knew just how funny she was.  As Lily on How I Met Your Mother, she delivers classic lines that brings fits of laughter.  She even won a People's Choice Award in 2010 for her role..  She married Alexis Denisof, Wesley, the other watcher, and they have a daughter Satyana, who was born on Alyson's birthday, March 24, 2009.


Nicholas Brendan played the charming and subtly sexy Xander Harris.  A role that Ryan Reynolds auditioned for and the one character that had no supernatural abilities but harbored a crush on his long time best friend Buffy. After Xander lost an eye in the final season and then his lover Anya, Nicholas Brendan disappeared the way of Sunnydale.  Aside from a failed series and some guest gigs, he has stuck to stage work.  He has had some personal issues that maybe have played on his career, but I would love to see this handsome man on another show.  He is hilarious so maybe a role on HIMYM with Hannigan would be good. He can currently be seen in the Blank production of Christopher Durang's play, Why Torture Is Wrong, And The People Who Love Them, running through March 14, 2010 at the Stella Adler Theater in Hollywood.

Amber Benson played Tara, Willow's girlfriend who ended up murdered by a stray bullet from Warren's rampage.  She and Willow's on screen kiss was one of the first and it almost ended up on the cutting room floor.  Joss Whedon threatened to walk if it did and the network gave in. In 2001, Benson worked with others to create the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow and Tara comic book titled "WannaBlessedBe". The following year she worked with others and Dark Horse Comics to create the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow and Tara comic books titled Wilderness #1 and Wilderness #2. She has a long writing resume and has seemed to find her niche in the publishing world.

 Michelle Trachtenberg has been all over television since her days as Buffy's sudden sister out of nowhere, Dawn.  She has appeared recently on Gossip Girl and now has a permanent role on NBC's Mercy, though the show isn't pulling in good reviews.  Michelle doesn't seem to be going anywhere though.  She has proven to be good at both dramatic role as well as comedy.  Often cast as the bitch, she plays it well.  But Michelle couldn't be sweeter and talks fondly of getting a chance to be a part of the Buffy phenomenon.


Emma Caulfield played the sometimes hateful Anya.  A vengance demon with a heart.  She broke Xander's, but kept us under her spell.  She was only supposed to appear in a handful of episodes, but the audience took to her so well that she ended up staying until she was killed in the final episode.  She appeared in Darkness Falls and on Monk in 2004 but she passed up the opportunity to audition for the roles of Six and Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, a decision she later regretted.  She appeared on Private Practice recently and like so many others in the cast, she lends her voice to numerous Robot Chicken episodes. 


James Marsters was around most of the series as Buffy's enemy Spike.  Towards the end of the shows run, Spike became Buffy's love interest and even went out and picked himself up a soul.  Although he became the most tortured character in the final season, you couldn't help but root for Buffy and Spike to end up together.  Yes, he was a poor substitute for Angelus, but moneybags had to give Angel his own show so we worked with what we had.  James went on to appear on Angel and was actually supposed to get his own show after Buffy.  Alyson Hannigan was also set to star in it, but the script never lived up to anyone's expectations. After Angel James went on to roles in Smallville and in the movie P.S I Love You.  He currently appears in Syfy's Caprica and is working on a successful music career.


 Anthony Stewart Head as Giles was probably the one character everyone loved.  From his fatherly advice to the gang, to the time he turned into a teenager and hooked up with Buffy's mother Joyce, Head was a ray of light in an often dark show.  After Buffy he has gone onto to numerous roles on stage and television in Britain and has even has a small music career.  Head is part of the regular cast of the BBC drama series Merlin deriving the name from the mythical wizard of the same name. Head plays King Uther Pendragon the father of Prince Arthur.

David Boreanaz was Angel. We all know what happened to Angel and how he got his own show with Cordelia.  I wasn't a fan of Angel, so when his character left Buffy, I was done.  Of course David stars on Fox's Bones now and has increased his popularity.  He is still sexy and looks as if he hasn't aged a day.  Guess Angel did rub off on him a bit.

Charisma Carpenter as Cordeila for the first 3 seasons was the normal cheerleader bitch, but Charisma brought something to Cordie that made her lovable.  No matter how mean she was to our favorites, she was funny about it.  CC even showed us that Cordelia had a heart and just wanted to be loved for more than her looks.  Charisma went on to star on Angel for a couple of years to some small roles in a couple of made for tv movies. Though Cordelia left Angel in the fourth season, Charisma returned on the 100th episode to grant closure to all of her fans. She did attend the Buffy reunion in 2008 and has started her own production company.

Eliza Dushku came on as the new slayer in Season 3.  Some of us loved her, some of us hated her.  She was the anti-Buffy and provided many a storyline.  Eliza also co-starred in Bring It On, a personal favorite of mine.  After Buffy, Eliza starred in Tru Calling, a short-lived series on FOX.  In 2007, she signed a deal with FOX and lured Joss Whedon into creating Dollhouse.  The show lasted 2 season before being canceled in November of 2009.  She is currently dating Rick Fox and I'm sure will be popping up on television somewhere soon.  Faith isn't the kind of girl you can keep down very long.

Seth Green portrayed Oz in the 2nd through 4th season as well as the first season of Angel.  Known as the werewolf that broke Willow's hurt and turned her into a lesbian,  Seth went on to a very successful future.  We all know who Seth Green is so I don't think I need to list his many accomplishments.  Robot Chicken being one of them as well as the voice of Chris on Family Guy.  Oz was last seen in dream of Willow's and never returned to the show after that.  Seth is currently engaged to be married.

Everyone is on board for another Buffy installment.  The problem is Joss is a perfectionist, which we do not mind.  If Buffy is brought to theaters again, it needs to be worth it.  Everyone needs to be involved and it has to have a beginning, middle, and an end.  Isn't about time for Buffy to re-appear for the 2012 Apocalypse anyway?  Below are the the top Buffy episodes.  It's Buffy day, so enjoy!

I came across this old photo and had to take a moment.  Do you remember when these three actresses were so young and innocent.  Evan Rachel Wood, Hilary Duff, and Lindsay Lohan back in 2003.  How big a difference 7 years makes.

Katherine Heigl Walks Aways From Grey's

Katherine Heigl is really leaving Grey's Anatomy.  Rumor is that she had no intention of returning after last season's cliffhanger in which her character Izzy and George O'Malley fought for their lives.  It was the best final 5 minutes of a season finale I have ever seen. But of course Heigl's character survived, thus bringing on this he said she said war.

Heigl says she was never given a day to return for her maternity leave, while Grey's execs say she was given a date and never showed up on set.  Now sources are reporting that she is done and is not even going back to film a good bye for her character. 

Grey's was once a great show that I never missed.  In it's history, the backstage drama always won out over the show and it's great writing.  This Katherine Heigl drama has been going on for years and she has finally won it seems.  She is off to make movies and become the movie star she thinks that she should be.

It hasn't been decided yet if it will be left open for her character to return.  My opinion is to try and bring her back just to kill her off.  Heigl may not have fans left but Izzie still does.  Let her die so that the other characters can move on, like her husband. Justin Chambers as Alex Korev  is sexy and a great actor.  His deserves the material of Izzie dying after putting up with Heigl's shenanigans.  Besides, right about now Grey's fans would love to get the image of Heigl in a hospital bed for ruining a beloved character.  Biggest bonus?  Denny can come back and retrieve his beloved.  Then we all win!

Justin and Cameron Reunite

Here is your first look at Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz coming face to face in their new movie, Bad Teacher.  Jessica Biel has been quoted as saying she is excited for her man, of course.  What is she supposed to say??   Of course all of this buzz is exactly what everyone intended when Timberlake and Diaz signed on.  Is it enough for you to go and see it?

Paula Is The Star Now

It's been revealed that Paula Abdul would be headlining the new re-boot of Star Search, a show that was once hosted by the late Ed McMahon. The 47-year-old former American Idol judge will reportedly host and judge the competition beginning in the summer, according to EW’s Michael Ausiello.

I was under the impression that Paula would hopefully join Simon on the America version of The X-Factor.  It is a good thing that Paula did get this gig instead. Not only does she get to finally be queen of the show, but if she would have joined Simon, it would have signed American's Idol death certificate.  Who would watch the show filled with replacements, and Randy "Dawg" Jackson, when the heart of the show would be over on another network.  Not that I don't love Randy and Ellen, but would they have been able to pull in the same ratings?


Good for Paula getting this big deal.  I just hope she is able to pull it off.  Let's be honest, when she hosted Diva's live on VH1, it's was not exactly watchable.  Paula is like that aunt you have that thinks she is funny, so she milks the crazy.  But in reality, you can barely watch without wincing.  Do you think Paula can pull it off?

Soon it will be Simon with The X-Factor, against Paula with Star Search, and Randy with Idol.  Interesting.  Maybe out of one of the reality singing shows, we can actually get some more real singers and not the cookie cutter ones that we are used to.

Now if someone will hire Brian Dunkleman to host...

Get your party dress on because it looks as if Jensen and Danneel will be walking down the aisle.  Seems she is complying with the keeping her mouth shut rule.  She hasn't been on twitter and I'm sure she is busy planning the sacred day, but this girl would tweet while in labor if given the opportunity.  Too bad she won't be.

I was wrong. I have been so busy i didn't realize that Danneel has picked up on the twitter habit again. Still, these two are definitely going to marry.

I'm not out here to convert people.  I like the blog as a release.  It has turned into a place where people can come and take part in conversations and also catch up on some gossip.  People who are set to discredit me will do what they will.  I know readers who have gotten banned from Gossip Rocks for just defending my site as well as posting my blinds.  Some people have even accused readers of being me and yesterday I was pointed to a blog where they thought I was some guy named Entertainment Lawyer from another gossip site.  No one is going to believe me until I come out, which won't happen.  However, some of my blinds have already come out in the open.

GLEE ALERT!

Justin Timberlake is one of the names that is on the Glee season 2 wish list.  As well as Hugh Jackman and Queen Latifah.

Joss Whedon, who will be directing the episode in which Neil Patrick Harris appears also reveals that NPH and our own Sue Sylvester will be swapping spit. 

"[Neil] gets to tussle with Jane Lynch," boss Ryan Murphy tells E!'s Kristen Dos Santos exclusively, "and they might sleep together, but that's all I'm gonna say!" Ryan says that Neil's character, who is an old high school rival of Will (Matthew Morrison) "is not a villain, he's just got edge, as they say. It's a very great, sweet, important episode. We wrote it for Neil and for Joss. The whole episode is about arts funding and the importance of arts funding in high schools."

Glee is already amazing, but this episode is one that will live in history in the mind of Gleeks.

Joe+Demi=Cash Cow

Now Disney has decided that they need to shove Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato down our throats as well.  With Miley Cyrus finally leaving Hannah Montana behind, they are looking for something to pick up the slack until they can transform another child star into a teen idol.

In my personal opinion, this whole Joe and Demi thing is a crock.  Here they are on Sunday going to church.  Church?  Dressed like that?  If I had tried to wear jeans to anything religious, my mother would have smacked me upside the head. Joe is a church boy, but I find it wrong to dress like this for church.  Wow, I am getting old.

But, I cannot help but notice that they are heading to church looking camera ready and dressed to impress.  I would bet that they were inside for two minutes.  This is clearly brilliantly staged.  Two very popular star among the teens who suddenly hook up and are then photographed going to church together?  I don't know who is worse in this whole scenario.  The brains behind this theater masterpiece or the teens who agree to do it.

One Life To Live Loses It's Balls

One Life To Live is a soap opera, and I know we don't talk about them at all on this blog.  But something has happened that I think should receive a lot of attention.

OLTL has made headlines by having a gay couple on the front burner.  Scott Evans and Brett Claywell portrayed Kyle and Oliver, a.k.a. "KISH", a gay couple who after a dramatic storyline finally ended up together.  Fans we responding well to the paring and loved the couple.  Everything seemed to be going well until last week when OLTL dropped a bombshell.

OLTL released a statement that they supercouple would be written off by Mid-April.

According to executive producer Frank Valentini, "We are concluding the story that we set out to tell with Kyle and Fish. We are very proud to have broken new ground with a same-sex couple on daytime."  Evans himself took to Twitter to clear up the rumors of his exit last Friday saying, "I have no plans to leave OLTL everyone. It's not even really in my hands!" It seems even Evans was caught unaware when the news broke today and followed up with another Tweet saying, "Anyone who thought my tweets were foreshadowing, that is not the case. Tweets were for something completely different. This is news to me."

Seems that they boys didn't even know that OLTL had decided to write them off the show.  I find this appalling.  There are hardly any gay couples portrayed on television anymore.  And they finally strike gold with a couple that fans seem to love and have an out actor involved only to write them out at the peak of their success.  Fans have wrote me to include this link for everyone to go and sign the petition to keep this couple on television.  I just have to say that I am highly disappointed in ABC.

The network known for making Erica Kane's daughter Bianca a lesbian on All My Children, which seemed to be open to showing the real gay world, has shown to me that they are lesbian friendly.  Not gay male friendly.  Join the club :(

Hollywood's Plastic Obsession

Am I the only one who watches their favorite shows, but cannot get over the fact that most of Hollywood actresses have so nip, tucked, and pulled that no one looks the same anymore?  Call me crazy, but facial expressions are a big part of acting.  Women are so scared of actually getting older, or looking their age that everyone has become a victim.

If you were a fan of Drew Carey, you know that on the show Christa Miller played Kate, Drew's love interest.  She was beautiful at the time, and hilarious.  She went on to appear on Scrubs and when she first appeared I wasn't sure if it was the same actress.  By the time she began on Cougar Town, I had no clue who the hell she was.

It is wrong to pick her out of a list of many, and I could go on and on all day naming actresses who have disapointed me by getting their face worked on.  Where does the obsession come from?  You could say that the women are simply obsessed with their looks.  But all the roads lead back to Hollywood.  Once you become a certian age, it's hard as hell to even get an audition.  When you are a woman.

Why is it that women are cast aside when they get older?  Hollywood has installed this thought into all of America that women should stay looking young.  All women all over Hollywood dread the day that they are told they are too old to get  part.  I understand the fear, trust me I do.  But women have gone through huge measures to secure their job.  But when does it get to the point that it is too much?  When you can't recognize the actress without squinting?  How about when  it's obvious nothing above their mouth moves?  What bugs me the most is when you are watching an actress whose eyebrows are paralyzed.

We are passing these viewa onto our children.  Little girls watch this and as they get older, they hear that plastic surgery has become as common as going to the grocery store.  With the surgery and the airbrushing, we are making a world that is becoming impossible to live in and be normal.  Hollywood is so busy brainwashing everyone to conform to their ways of life.  So if you live in the closet, like getting injected so your face doesn't move, getting your lips plumped to the point you have trouble breathing through your nose, and have a plastic surgeon on speed dial, then you are a Hollywood citizen.

But how much longer until we go to see movies where faces don't move?  You can't act without expression on your face.  Then again, if it gets too bad, we can go back to listening to shows on the radio.

3 Blinds

#1 These co-stars are beautiful women who have a lot of buzz about their show.  They also had become very close off camera, much unlike their on-screen relationship.  They hooked up for awhile, often bringing home a guy or gal to join in.  Sometimes they even liked to hook up in public bathrooms at the bar.  One of the girls became clingy and wanted more one on one then four on four.  The other, set in her partying ways, packed her bags and was gone by Wednesday.


#2 This actor thought he had finally hit it with his prime time television role, only to be released from his contract.  He was told that it was to get rid of a co-star and that he would be brought back.  Said actor turned down a lot of roles to keep his schedule open.  Only now, the show is on the chopping block and he found out they had no intention of bringing him back.  Since he turned down so many gigs, his agent told him he committed actor suicide and is trying to get him on a soap. Until then, the actor is drinking more and blaming the "actress" for getting him kicked off in the first place.  Someone should tell him its because someone found out how he really got the role.

#3 This married couple looks normal on the outside, aside from the past gossip about the wife. They have a small family and seem somewhat normal.  But what no one knows is that the wife faked the pregnancy and barely sees her baby, let alone her older children.  Seems that it was the best cover to hide her growing addiction to playing in the snow and his growing ad"DICK"tion.
