was an awesome show back in the day, way ahead of it's time. And now star Scott Bakula 
has announced that a film version of the sci-fi television series is indeed in development.Bakula, who portrayed the time traveling Sam Beckett in the NBC drama, told fans at this year's Comic-Con that the show's creator Donald P. Bellisario is hammering out a script for the movie.
"The good news is that Don is working on the film script and has a big-time Hollywood producer who wants to do it," revealed Bakula. "It's about time."
On a sadder note, Bakula claimed that he and co-star Dean Stockwell
(Al Calavicci) are now too old to even think about reprising their original roles. He suggested that the characters will have to be recast for the film."But Dean and I will have a part in it somehow," he added hopefully.
The original Quantum Leap
ran from 1989 to 1993.

Oooh, I loved the TV series.
I loved the show but I really don't think they should make a film.
Is there no such thing as an original idea any more?
QL was such an awesome show! I think Mr. Jensen Ackles would make a perfect Dr. Sam Beckett!
