Hey Kevin, Stop Whining And Do Something!

Let me start things off by saying that I am a huge, no pun intended, fan of all of Kevin Smith's movies.  I love his work, and I will always be a fan of his.
That being said.......

Unless you have been living under a rock all week, you have heard the story about Smith being kicked off a Southwest flight for being "too fat to fly."  For the record, I do not condone that at all.  The fact that they are making people pay extra because they are different is completely appalling to me.  So the skinny, pretty people get cheaper air fare now?  What the shit?
Now, I also know that sometimes buying two seats is required and the people that usually have to do that plan ahead.  Kevin usually did buy two seats, but because he was on stand-by he only got one, which he says he fit in perfectly, WITH both armrests down.

But that is not my argument.  My problem is with Kevin Smith, the man.  I get that you were embarrassed so, you acted out.  I gave you the complimentary 8 hours of whining time.  But, it's keeps on coming, man.  Instead of spewing his tears all over television, twitter, and anything with a camera or keyboard attached, why isn't he using this whole ordeal to actually do something about airline policies.

I'm not telling him to lose weight.  People are who they are and they shouldn't have to change to fit in.  However, this is the perfect oportunity for him to try and mke a difference for others.  Am I the only one who finds it ridicouls that airlines are now the "fat patrol" and have the ability to make you an outcast?  Make the stewardess the head cheerleader and you got high school all over again.

What happen to Silent Bob?  Maybe someone should summon him up for a little bit if you can't manage to dry your tears.  Because in all actuality, you did this to yourself by not getting two seats as you apparently normally do.  If you must talk, fight the airlines.  Someone should try to make a change.

I totally agree.

But watch out, almost everywhere else I've seen this story mentioned, the fat-haters came out of the woodwork. There were some really poisonous comments. Many people support the airlines in this, which is depressing. One guy even had the nerve to say that fat people shouldn't travel til they get down to size!
