Whitney Houston was once thought to be making a huge comeback. One that we all welcomed, thinking that since Bobby Brown was no longer in the picture, she would be back to her old self.
Sadly though, as she opened her Australian tour it became clear that she wasn't our old Whitney. The years of partying seemed to have caught up to her and after two songs she was out of breath. She pulled her brother on stage for back up and wasn't even on stage when her singer and band performed "Queen Of The Night." Holding a towel to wipe up the sweat and even coughing during some songs, it became clear that she wasn't ready.
But the 46 year old singer appeared out of it and couldn't remember her band's name as she introduced them to the audience. However, Houston had the audience on its feet with an impromptu gospel-infused tribute to the late Michael Jackson, two of whose cancelled This is It tour dancers are in her entourage, singing The Way You Make Me Feel and Wanna Be Starting Something.
But the final act, faltered at the finale when she croaked her way through I Will Always Love You, actually stopping to get a drink and towel off just as she was about to hit the song's epic high note, which she turned into a soft coo.
Girl, we love you and hoped for the best, but we think it's time to give it up.

I hope that she is not back on the drugs. I know it was hellish getting off of them; I hate for her to have to do it again.
