The 1980s teen heartthrob died early Wednesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was 38. He is believed to have died of a drug overdose. But police now state that an autopsy will determine the cause of death. He was unresponsive when discovered in his apartment in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. He was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in nearby Burbank, where he was pronounced dead around 3 a.m.
He found success with a role in the film Lucas with Charlie Sheen and went on to star on License To Drive and gained popularity as one half of the Coreys with Corey Feldman.
Following his heyday in the 1980s, Haim acted steadily, although most of his work wound up heading straight to video. He and Feldman attempted a comeback in 2007 with the short-lived A&E reality series The Two Coreys.
Reports of Haim being ill days prior to his death are eerily reminiscent of the deaths of Brittany Murphy and Heath Ledger. It is possible that it was an accidental overdose as he was conscious when EMT's arrived and was complaining of flu-like symptoms.
I am so tired of young people dying because they are numbing their pain with drugs. How many more peope have to die before we realize what he fuck is going on!

I dont want to disparage the dead... but...I had always heard that he spent most of the 90's and early 00's turning tricks for his drug habit. At one point using his real name in Canada. I have lost many friends to ODs or health complications caused by abuse. I just have no sympathy for junkies anymore though. There is only so much you can for people.
This kind of thing will only stop when Hollywood stops turning children into money making machines who are discarded when they are no longer young and cute and the money stops rolling in. Yeah like thats going to happen...
Personally I don't think it was an OD. Probably something as a result of his previous drug abuse.
Latest reports indicate he was unwell for a few days prior.
Whatever the reason it is very sad and I feel for his family and friends.
Evidently there truly is no life after Hollywood.
